SHARE Museums East supports leadership in the sector through encouraging museums to contribute expertise, time, venues and other resources to support our programmes. In this way we have developed 11 peer-led regional networks, a comprehensive training calendar, an annual regional conference, and cohort groups to support museums in Forward Planning and Volunteer Development.

We convene quarterly meetings of the Museums East of England leaders’ group (MEE) and the SHARE Advice Network (SAN), a collective of museum advisers and mentors with an important role in programme development. We also support and develop improving governance within county museum groups.

The SHARE cohort Not Only But Also brings together lone museum professionals to develop their skills in to management and leadership. Using senior museum professionals as contributors and mentors, the cohort offers peer support, practical training and a place to develop ideas.
