This year’s study day looks at how our museums might be able to use their outdoor spaces or think more creatively about the workshops they might be able to develop to expand their education offer. This is a fun, practical day so do wear sturdy footwear and appropriate clothing for the weather.
00 Tea, Coffee and welcome to the museum.
.30 Take part in a Mesolithic workshop: This is a chance to experience one of the museum’s workshops led by an experienced workshop leader. There will be plenty of opportunities to immerse yourself in the experience and ask questions.
00 Lunch: The museum has a tea room which can provide a selection of sandwiches and light lunches. However there is also space for you to eat a packed lunch.
00 Outdoor Learning Officer and bushcraft expert Adrian will lead a tour of COAM’s outdoor learning venues and discuss the new orienteering and bushcraft offer at the Museum.
30 Cathy Silmon Head of Learning will talk about the formal learning offer at the Museum, the ethos behind it and how the education team is managed/ structured
00 Refreshments and a chance to ask any questions and time to enjoy a self led exploration of the site.
