This course will provide a comprehensive overview of the principles of conservation housekeeping and its practical application in museums and historic
buildings.
It will include identifying the main threats to collections and how these can be reduced or eliminated using a variety of easily learnt techniques which can be incorporated into day-to-day routine.
A range of materials and equipment will be available for you to try.
Participants will:
- be able to identify the main threats to collections and how these can be reduced or eliminated
- learn how to put together a basic housekeeping kit of materials and equipment for their own institution
Please note: Participants should be aware that they will be undertaking a variety of practical hands-on tasks during this course and should dress accordingly.
Morning refreshments will be available but please make your own arrangements for lunch.
