The Training day will look at the stories objects can tell us from the everyday to the revered. In particular we will explore how objects reflect the life of the ‘ordinary people’ from the past and compare this to the history communicated via portraits, fine art and ‘bling’. We’ll consider developing school sessions based on objects and will look beyond History to include a range of curriculum areas. We’ll also explore the practicalities of running public events which give visitors the chance to handle objects. The day will be practical and hands on and we will be looking at a wide range of objects from prehistoric flint tools to communication tools used during WWII.
Booking for this event will go live from September 1st.
