Hampshire Cultural Trust and Norfolk Museums Service are proud to present a one-day conference sharing the learning from their Heritage Lottery Funded Catalyst Umbrella projects. We invite delegates from museums nationally, as well as from the Hampshire Solent and East of England regions where the projects are operating.

Background

Now in their second year of delivery, there are nine HLF Catalyst Umbrella projects in the UK. Their aim is to develop fundraising capacity within the heritage sector through a range of different learning and development opportunities. In the East of England, Norfolk Museums Service’s project, SHARED Enterprise, has been working with museums to help develop ‘business mindedness’ through a range of training opportunities, including cohort groups working on fundraising strategies and building links with businesses. Hampshire Cultural Trust’s project, ‘Inspiring a Culture of Philanthropy’, is supporting museums to build relationships with philanthropists and businesses also through a cohort model. Museums take part in a bespoke training and development programme which includes a fundraising mentor, training, peer support activities and showcasing the museum sector to the philanthropic community.

Keynote Speakers

We are delighted to welcome our keynote speakers:

  • Anne Young, Head of Strategic Planning at the Heritage Lottery Fund
  • Peter Maple, Visiting Lecturer and Fundraising Researcher at London South Bank University and St Mary’s University
Conference Sessions

Delegates will have the opportunity to join shared learning sessions with panel discussions about each of the projects. Representatives of businesses and museums will discuss corporate giving and business partnerships, whilst experts in philanthropic giving will host sessions on fundraising.
